Which original Dragon on the UK show Dragons' Den was born in America?

Doug Richard was the original Dragon on the UK show Dragons' Den who was born in America.

Richard is an American entrepreneur and educator who became one of the first investors on the British version of the programme. The original panel also included Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne and Rachel Elnaugh, making Richard distinctive among the launch Dragons because of his American birthplace.

He later became known for founding School for Startups, an organisation focused on helping entrepreneurs develop businesses. His career included work in technology and software before his television appearances.

Doug Richard is sometimes confused with other internationally born Dragons or later panel members. The question refers specifically to the original UK line-up, not every investor who subsequently appeared on the programme.
