Duncan Bannatyne left the UK television series Dragon's Den in 2014 after appearing from its first series.
Bannatyne was one of the original investors when the British programme launched. He became known for his direct questioning and for a business portfolio associated with health clubs, care homes and other ventures. His departure in 2014 ended a long run on the panel but did not end his wider public career as an entrepreneur and media personality.
Because Peter Jones also began with the programme and stayed much longer, viewers sometimes confuse the two original Dragons when recalling departures. Bannatyne's exit is the key distinction: Jones continued, while Bannatyne left after the 2013–14 period.
The fact concerns his role as a television Dragon, not the end of his business activities. After leaving the show, Bannatyne remained active in business, charity work and public appearances.
