Simon Woodroffe left the British television series Dragon's Den after its first series.
Woodroffe was one of the original Dragons when the programme launched on BBC Two in 2005. He is an entrepreneur best known for creating the Yo! brand, including the Yo! Sushi restaurant chain, and he brought experience in hospitality, branding and business development to the panel.
Unlike Peter Jones, who remained throughout the programme's series, Woodroffe did not continue beyond the first series. His departure was followed by changes to the investor lineup as the BBC developed the format and introduced other high-profile entrepreneurs.
The other original Dragons included Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis and Rachel Elnaugh. Because all five appeared around the launch, lists of the first panel can obscure the fact that Woodroffe's time on the programme was much shorter than that of several colleagues.
