Peter Jones founded the mobile-phone retailer Phones International Group.
Jones is a British entrepreneur, investor and television personality who became one of the original Dragons on the UK programme. Phones International Group was one of the businesses that established his commercial reputation before his television career made him widely known.
His background in telecommunications helps explain why he has often shown interest in technology, consumer electronics and scalable retail ideas on Dragon's Den. The company name is distinct from Phones 4u, the retailer associated with fellow original Dragon John Caudwell.
That similarity creates a common mix-up: both investors had major mobile-phone connections, but the businesses were different. Phones International Group belongs to Peter Jones, while John Caudwell co-founded Phones 4u. The question asks for the founder of the former.
