Peter Jones was an original Dragon on the UK show Dragon's Den and remained a continuous investor from its 2005 launch.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and investor whose interests have included technology, media, retail and leisure businesses. On Dragon's Den, he became known for scrutinising sales figures, margins, ownership percentages and the founder's ability to scale a company.
He was one of the five Dragons in the first British series, alongside Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. Several other investors joined later, so a Dragon who became familiar to viewers in the middle of the programme's history cannot be counted as an original member.
The phrase “continuous investor” matters because the panel has experienced many departures and arrivals. Jones is the surviving launch-era Dragon who continued through the show's later series, making him distinct from later members such as Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett.
