Answer
British Fashion Council
Answer
British Fashion Council
The British Fashion Council launched London Fashion Week in 1984.
The council was established in 1983 as a nonprofit organization intended to promote British fashion and support the country’s designers. Its first London Fashion Week followed the next year, giving emerging and established labels an organized international platform.
The event became especially associated with experimental design, theatrical presentation and fashion-school talent. Designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano helped build London’s reputation for innovation, although the event has always included many different styles.
London Fashion Week is one of the main global fashion weeks, alongside New York, Milan and Paris. It is staged twice a year for the autumn/winter and spring/summer seasons, with additional presentations and digital formats introduced at different times.
