The Hidden Ones are the direct predecessor of the Assassin Brotherhood in Assassin's Creed Origins.
Bayek and Aya establish the Hidden Ones after the death of their son and their growing opposition to the Order of the Ancients. The new organization adopts principles of secrecy, resistance to domination, and protection of ordinary people. Its members operate from hidden bases and use symbols and methods that anticipate the later Assassin tradition.
Origins is set centuries before the first Assassin's Creed game, so the familiar Brotherhood does not yet exist in its developed medieval form. The Order of the Ancients is the opposing organization in Origins and later becomes associated with the Templar lineage, making it a frequent source of confusion. The Hidden Ones evolve across subsequent historical periods, eventually becoming the Assassin Brotherhood recognized in the series' later chronology.
