Which organization is listed as organizing the 2026 Tour de France?

The 2026 Tour de France is organised by the Amaury Sport Organisation, commonly abbreviated to ASO. ASO is the French sports-event company responsible for staging the race and managing its wider commercial and logistical operation.

The Tour’s organising history began with the newspaper L’Auto, which created the race in 1903. After the Second World War, L’Équipe took over the event, and the newspaper’s parent group eventually developed the organisation now known as ASO. The company was founded in 1992 and is part of the privately owned Éditions Philippe Amaury media group.

ASO runs far more than the men’s Tour de France. Its cycling portfolio includes the Tour de France Femmes, Paris-Roubaix, Paris-Nice, Liège–Bastogne–Liège and the Critérium du Dauphiné. It also promotes events in running, sailing, golf and motorsport, including the Dakar Rally. A frequent mix-up is the Union Cycliste Internationale, or UCI: the UCI governs international cycling and sanctions the race, but it is not the organisation that stages the Tour.
