Which organization developed Metal Gear Solid for the original PlayStation?
Answer
Konami Computer Entertainment Japan
Answer
Konami Computer Entertainment Japan
Konami Computer Entertainment Japan developed Metal Gear Solid for the original PlayStation.
The Tokyo-based Konami development studio created the game under director Hideo Kojima. Its work transformed the earlier overhead stealth formula into a fully 3D experience with cinematic camera work, scripted sequences, voice acting, and detailed environments.
The game was published by Konami and released in 1998. Development began as a PlayStation project after earlier plans for a more powerful version of the series were abandoned. The hardware allowed the team to present Solid Snake’s infiltration of Shadow Moses Island with a much more film-like style.
This developer credit is distinct from the publisher credit. Konami was the company that published and distributed the title, while Konami Computer Entertainment Japan was the development studio credited for making it. Later remakes and ports involved different teams and platforms.
