Northrend is a crescent-shaped continent in northern Azeroth and the main setting of World of Warcraft’s second expansion. It is the home of the Lich King Arthas Menethil and the Scourge, making it the destination for the Alliance and Horde expeditions launched to confront him.

Players entered Northrend through zones such as Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord, then advanced through regions including Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills, and Icecrown. The continent supported the expansion’s level range from 68 to 80 and introduced the Death Knight hero class.
