Eivor is the Norse-inspired name of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's protagonist. Players can choose a male or female presentation for Eivor, but the character's name remains Eivor Varinsdottir.
The game follows Eivor, a Viking raider who leaves Norway with the Raven Clan and settles in ninth-century England. Eivor becomes involved with the Hidden Ones while confronting the Order of the Ancients, the precursor organization to the later Templars.
Valhalla's story combines Norse mythology, Viking settlement, and Anglo-Saxon politics. The settlement at Ravensthorpe acts as Eivor's base, while regions across England provide the main quest arcs and exploration areas.
The character Basim is an important Hidden One and a major figure in the plot, but he is not the player character. Kassandra belongs to Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and Bayek is the protagonist of Origins. Valhalla was released in 2020.
