Which Nintendo Switch game was the first in the Xenoblade Chronicles series released for the console?

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was the first game in the Xenoblade Chronicles series released for Nintendo Switch.

Monolith Soft developed Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Nintendo published it worldwide in December 2017. The role-playing game follows Rex and Pyra on a journey across the world of Alrest, whose communities live on the backs of enormous creatures called Titans.

Although it was the first series entry made for Switch, it was not the first Xenoblade game overall. The original Xenoblade Chronicles began on Wii, while Xenoblade Chronicles X was released for Wii U. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition later brought the original game to Switch in 2020.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 followed in 2022. Its release order makes Xenoblade Chronicles 2 the series’ Switch starting point, even though later editions brought earlier stories to the system.
