Super Mario Party was the eleventh main Mario Party installment and the first one released for Nintendo Switch.

Developed by NDcube and published by Nintendo, it launched worldwide on October 5, 2018. The game refreshed the traditional board-game format while bringing back features such as individual player movement, stars, and character dice blocks.

It is often confused with Mario Party Superstars, which was released later in 2021 and is the twelfth home-console installment. Super Mario Party is also distinct from Super Mario Party Jamboree, the 2024 follow-up for Switch.

The game introduced several Switch-focused modes, including Partner Party, River Survival, and Sound Stage. Its main Party mode supports up to four players, with Joy-Con motion controls used in some minigames.
