Answer
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Answer
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild introduced the Great Plateau as its opening area.
The Great Plateau is where Link awakens after a century-long sleep and begins learning the game’s core systems. It contains the Shrine of Resurrection, four tutorial shrines, the Temple of Time, and the first encounters that teach exploration, combat, cooking, and environmental problem-solving.
Breath of the Wild launched for Nintendo Switch and Wii U on March 3, 2017. Its open-world Hyrule lets players leave the Great Plateau after completing the introductory objectives and then approach much of the wider adventure in different ways.
The sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, revisits Hyrule but begins in a different setting and introduces sky islands and the Depths. The Great Plateau therefore belongs specifically to Breath of the Wild’s opening sequence.
