Which New Mexico site was Georgia O'Keeffe's home and studio from 1949?

The story behind the answer

Abiquiú was Georgia O'Keeffe’s New Mexico home and studio from 1949.

O'Keeffe acquired and restored a historic adobe house in Abiquiú, north of Santa Fe. She moved into it permanently in 1949 after years of spending summers and other periods in New Mexico.

The house included a famous walled garden and a distinctive black door, both of which became subjects in her paintings. Its architecture and surrounding landscape offered the solitude and visual material she valued in her later work.

O'Keeffe also spent time at Ghost Ranch, a retreat farther north. The two places are related but not interchangeable: Ghost Ranch was a major source of landscape inspiration, while Abiquiú became her principal permanent home and studio.
