Ragtime earned Caissie Levy the 2026 Tony Award for Leading Actress in a Musical.
Levy won for playing Mother in the 2026 Broadway revival of Ragtime. The musical, based on E. L. Doctorow’s 1975 novel, interweaves the stories of three American communities in the early twentieth century.
Ragtime was one of the night’s major contenders, receiving 11 nominations and winning four awards. Levy’s fellow nominees included Nicholas Christopher, Luke Evans, Joshua Henry, Sam Tutty, and Brandon Uranowitz in the corresponding male category, while the other nominated actresses came from Schmigadoon!, The Rocky Horror Show, Titaníque, and Two Strangers. The award is specifically for a leading musical performance, distinct from the featured-actress musical prize.
