Dive lets players explore underwater areas in Pokémon Pokopia’s first DLC area.
The move became available through a free update connected to Bubbly Basin, Part 1 of the paid Expansion Pass. It allows Ditto to travel below the waves and reach Bubbly Basin’s underwater town, adding a new layer of exploration to the game’s world.
Dive is particularly notable because Pokopia usually turns Pokémon abilities into practical tools for rebuilding. Other learned moves can help create greenery, water plants, cut through obstacles, or break rocks. In Bubbly Basin, Dive serves as the key ability for reaching an aquatic environment and discovering new content.
Players may associate underwater travel with Surf because Surf is one of Pokémon’s most recognizable water-related moves. In Pokopia’s expansion, however, the specific move tied to going beneath the waves is Dive. The area also adds aquatic-themed Pokémon and furniture.
