Sektor is the Mortal Kombat character who becomes a cybernetic Lin Kuei assassin and leads the Cyber Initiative’s ruthless faction.
Originally a human Lin Kuei warrior, Sektor willingly undergoes cybernetic conversion. His red armor, missile attacks, teleportation, and mechanical weaponry distinguish him from the other cyber ninjas. He is strongly associated with the Lin Kuei’s plan to convert its members into machines.
Sektor is often confused with Cyrax, another converted Lin Kuei warrior whose armor is primarily yellow and whose attacks include explosive nets. Smoke is a separate character who also becomes cybernetic in some versions of the story. Triborg is a later composite character based on several cybernetic fighters. Sektor’s name is normally written without a “c,” matching the stylized spelling used by the series.
