Baraka is the tarkatan warrior known for retractable arm blades in Mortal Kombat.
Baraka comes from the Tarkatan species, whose members are characterized by sharp teeth, aggressive features, and blade-like protrusions extending from their forearms. He is commonly portrayed as a powerful fighter from Outworld and a leader or champion among the Tarkatans.
His arm blades are his defining weapons and appear in both his normal attacks and finishing moves. Baraka first appeared in Mortal Kombat II, where his distinctive appearance made him immediately recognizable among the series’ expanding cast.
Baraka is sometimes confused with Mileena because both characters are associated with Tarkatan traits. Mileena is a clone of Kitana altered with Tarkatan biology, whereas Baraka is a Tarkatan warrior. Reptile is also an Outworld fighter, but he belongs to the Saurian race rather than the Tarkatans.
