Cyrax first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3 as a cybernetic ninja.
Cyrax is one of the Lin Kuei warriors transformed into a cyborg after the clan began converting its best assassins. In Mortal Kombat 3, he is identified by his yellow armor and distinctive net and explosive-based attacks.
His story differs from that of Sektor, another Lin Kuei cyborg introduced in the same game. Cyrax eventually regains his human identity and becomes an ally of Earthrealm’s defenders in later storylines.
The character’s name is often confused with Sektor because both are cybernetic Lin Kuei assassins. Their visual colors, weapons, and narrative roles distinguish them: Cyrax uses a capture net, while Sektor is associated with missile attacks and red armor.
