Royce Lewis struck out with the bases loaded in the fifth inning of the 2026 MLB Field of Dreams Game.
The strikeout ended one of Minnesota’s most important chances to change the game. The Twins had loaded the bases with two outs, but Lewis struck out against Philadelphia starter Aaron Nola, leaving the potential tying run stranded.
Nola had already handled a difficult outing well, allowing only one run across five innings. Escaping the bases-loaded threat on three pitches helped preserve Philadelphia’s advantage and kept the Phillies in control before their bullpen finished the game.
Minnesota ultimately went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and stranded nine runners. Luke Keaschall’s solo home run provided the Twins’ only run, while Philadelphia scored seven, including five on three home runs.
