Which Mega Man game introduced the flying bird assistant named Beat?

The story behind the answer

Mega Man 5 introduced Beat, Mega Man’s flying bird assistant. Dr. Cossack created Beat as a support robot, and the character joins Mega Man during the game’s conflict with the mysterious robot army supposedly led by Dr. Wily.

Beat’s main function is offensive support. Once acquired, he can fly toward enemies and attack them automatically, making him especially useful against airborne targets and difficult bosses. In Mega Man 5, players generally unlock Beat by collecting the letters spelling “WILY” hidden throughout the game’s stages.

Beat returned in later Mega Man titles, sometimes with altered abilities or a different method of acquisition. This can cause confusion with Mega Man 7, Mega Man 6, or Mega Man 4, but none of those games introduced him. Mega Man 5 was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992 in Japan and North America.
