In Mega Man V for Game Boy, the alien robots who conquer cities are called the Stardroids.
Mega Man V opens with the alien robot Terra defeating Mega Man because the standard Mega Buster cannot damage his unusual alien material. Terra then leads eight powerful robots known as the Stardroids in an assault on Earth. The group quickly takes control of cities, creating the central crisis of the game.
To fight them, Dr. Light equips Mega Man with the Mega Arm, a new weapon distinct from his usual arm cannon. Mega Man also receives help from Tango, a robotic cat introduced in this installment. After defeating the Stardroids, he confronts Terra again before pursuing the real force behind the invasion.
The terminology can be confusing because other Mega Man games use “Robot Masters” for bosses and the Mega Man X series uses “Mavericks” for rebellious Reploids. NetNavis belong to the Battle Network continuity, not this Game Boy adventure. Mega Man V is also notable for being the first classic-series Game Boy title to use an original set of bosses rather than simply adapting enemies from a numbered NES game.
