Which McDonald’s slogan was used in the late 1990s before “I’m Lovin’ It”?

The story behind the answer

“Did Somebody Say McDonald’s?” was the McDonald’s slogan used in the late 1990s before “I’m Lovin’ It.”

McDonald’s has frequently changed its advertising lines to refresh the brand while retaining its core visual symbols, including the Golden Arches and the Ronald McDonald character. “Did Somebody Say McDonald’s?” was used during the period preceding the company’s major “I’m Lovin’ It” campaign.

The slogan is sometimes mixed up with “We Love to See You Smile,” another McDonald’s advertising line from the 1990s. It is also distinct from “You Deserve a Break Today,” which originated much earlier, in 1971.

In 2003, “I’m Lovin’ It” became McDonald’s first global advertising campaign, giving the company a more unified international message than many of its earlier slogans.
