Which McDonald's mascot is a walking cheeseburger with a large cheese slice on his head?

Mayor McCheese is the McDonald’s mascot depicted as a walking cheeseburger with a large cheese slice on his head. He was one of the most distinctive figures in McDonaldland advertising.

The character wore a formal mayoral outfit, including a sash, and was presented as the elected leader of the fictional community. His design combined political imagery with McDonald’s food branding, making the character immediately recognizable to children.

Mayor McCheese is sometimes confused with Officer Big Mac, another McDonaldland character whose head resembled a Big Mac hamburger. The two characters had different roles: Mayor McCheese was the town’s mayor, while Officer Big Mac served as a law-enforcement figure. Both were part of the same broader advertising universe.
