Which McDonald’s character has a head shaped like the company’s Big Mac sandwich?

Officer Big Mac is the McDonald’s character whose head was shaped like a Big Mac sandwich.

The character appeared in McDonaldland advertising as a police officer. His design used the stacked bun, filling, and sesame-seed imagery associated with the Big Mac, turning one of McDonald’s signature menu items into a recognizable fictional personality.

Officer Big Mac was part of a broader branding strategy in which menu products were represented by characters with roles, costumes, and relationships. This made the advertising world easier for children to follow while repeatedly displaying recognizable food imagery.

He is often confused with Mayor McCheese because both characters had hamburger-based heads and civic roles. Mayor McCheese had a cheeseburger head and served as mayor; Officer Big Mac had a Big Mac head and served as an officer.
