Which market-cap giant is the parent company of the luxury brands Boucheron and Gucci?

The story behind the answer

Kering is the parent company of luxury brands including Boucheron and Gucci.

The group began as Pinault, a timber and building-materials business founded by François Pinault in 1963. It later shifted toward retail and luxury goods, acquiring and developing a portfolio of fashion, jewelry, and beauty brands.

Gucci became part of the group in 2001. Kering also owns or has owned major brands such as Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, and Alexander McQueen, while its jewelry portfolio includes Boucheron.

Kering was formerly known as PPR and adopted the Kering name in 2013. It is often confused with LVMH because both are large publicly traded luxury groups, but they are separate companies with different brand portfolios. Their market capitalizations fluctuate with share prices and sector conditions.
