Time Trials lets Mario Kart World players race against ghosts from players around the world.
Time Trials are a returning Mario Kart format focused on completing a course as quickly as possible. Instead of competing in a full pack of live racers, players concentrate on route choice, cornering, acceleration and item-free driving performance.
Mario Kart World expands the format by allowing players to compete against worldwide player ghosts. A ghost records another player’s performance and can be raced as a transparent benchmark, helping players compare their lines and speed without directly changing the original run.
This mode differs from Free Roam, which is designed for exploration, and Knockout Tour, which is an elimination-style race sequence. Coin Runners is a Battle Mode based on collecting coins rather than setting the fastest course time.
