Hublot introduced the Big Bang collection in 2005.
The Big Bang was presented under Hublot chief executive Jean-Claude Biver and became a major turning point for the brand. Its design combined a large, layered case with materials and visual details associated with Hublot, including rubber, ceramic and precious metals in different versions.
The collection built on Hublot’s earlier “Art of Fusion” approach, which paired traditional watchmaking materials with less conventional combinations. Its bold proportions and highly visible bezel screws gave it a distinctive identity in the luxury sports-watch market.
The Big Bang should not be confused with Hublot’s original 1980 watch, which was known for combining a gold case and natural-rubber strap. That earlier design helped establish the brand; the Big Bang was the later collection that brought it much broader attention.
