Which London Fashion Week venue hosted the event’s shows from 2009 to 2015?

The story behind the answer

Somerset House hosted London Fashion Week shows from 2009 to 2015.

The historic complex on the Strand became one of the event’s most recognizable venues during that period. Its central courtyard provided a dramatic setting for runway presentations, while the surrounding rooms accommodated showrooms, presentations, press activity and industry meetings.

London Fashion Week moved to Brewer Street Car Park in Soho in 2016. That change reflected the event’s continuing search for a flexible central venue and its preference for locations that could support both catwalk shows and temporary fashion installations.

Somerset House remains strongly associated with London Fashion Week, even though it has also hosted exhibitions, cultural events and other fashion-related programs. The venue’s earlier use should not be mistaken for London Fashion Week’s permanent home.
