Which London design museum was co-founded by former Dragon Terence Conran?

The story behind the answer

The Design Museum in London was co-founded by former Dragon Terence Conran.

Terence Conran was a major figure in British design, retail and hospitality. Alongside his work as a designer and entrepreneur, he helped establish the Design Museum, an institution devoted to industrial, product, graphic and fashion design. The museum gives the public a place to examine how designed objects and visual systems shape everyday life.

The Design Museum should not be confused with the Victoria and Albert Museum, which has extensive design collections but is a separate institution with a much broader remit. Conran's connection is specifically to the founding of the Design Museum.

The museum first opened at Butler's Wharf in London in 1989 and later moved to the former Commonwealth Institute building in Kensington, reopening there in 2016. Conran's involvement reflects the wider scope of his career: he was not only a television investor, but also a designer, retailer, restaurateur and advocate for design education.
