Which Lamborghini model succeeded the Diablo?
Answer
Murciélago
Answer
Murciélago
The Lamborghini model that succeeded the Diablo was the Murciélago.
Lamborghini introduced the Murciélago in 2001 after the Diablo’s production run ended. It became the company’s new V12 flagship and represented Lamborghini’s first entirely new design in 11 years, as well as its first new model developed under Audi ownership.
The Murciélago retained the dramatic mid-engine, all-wheel-drive character associated with Lamborghini’s top supercars, but brought a more modern shape and updated engineering. Its designer was Luc Donckerwolke, who later worked on several important Volkswagen Group vehicles.
The alternatives are models from different points in the lineup. The Gallardo was a smaller V10 model launched in 2003, the Huracán later replaced the Gallardo, and the Aventador succeeded the Murciélago itself. Murciélago production ended in 2010 after 4,099 cars, and the Aventador debuted as its replacement in 2011.
