BAPE is the Japanese streetwear brand known for its “Bape Sta” sneaker.
A Bathing Ape, commonly shortened to BAPE, introduced the Bape Sta as one of its signature footwear designs. The sneaker became recognizable for its star-shaped side logo and frequent use of bright colors, patent materials, and limited-edition collaborations. Its appearance is often compared with classic basketball sneakers, but the Bape Sta is a BAPE design rather than an adidas or Nike model.
BAPE was founded by Nigo in Tokyo in 1993. The brand's ape imagery, camouflage patterns, and limited releases helped make it a major influence on global streetwear. The Bape Sta is therefore distinct from BAPE's shark hoodies and Baby Milo character products, which are other commonly recognized parts of the label's visual identity.
