Tensei Yazawa earned the win for Japan in the 2026 Little League World Series third-place game.
Japan defeated Ohio 3–2 on August 30 at Howard J. Lamade Stadium. Yazawa was credited with the victory, improving his tournament record to 2–1. Bryson Williams was the losing pitcher for Ohio, whose record fell to 1–1.
The game was scoreless through the first three innings. Ohio scored twice in the fourth inning, but Japan answered with three runs in the sixth inning to take the lead and finish third overall.
Japan had lost the international championship game to Curaçao 4–0 before playing Ohio. Curaçao and Nevada then met in the world championship game later on August 30, with Curaçao winning 11–2.
