Which Italian fashion house launched Luna Rossa, the Prada fragrance introduced in 2012?

The story behind the answer

Prada launched Luna Rossa, the fragrance introduced in 2012.

Luna Rossa was developed as a men’s fragrance connected to Prada’s sailing team of the same name. The name means “red moon” in Italian and refers to the team that competed in the America’s Cup.

Perfumer Daniela Andrier created the original composition. Its structure combines lavender and bitter orange with clary sage, spearmint and ambroxan, producing a clean aromatic profile with a modern woody-amber base.

The fragrance is sometimes confused with Luna Rossa Black, Carbon or Ocean, which are later flankers or related editions. The original Luna Rossa is identifiable by its 2012 launch and its direct connection to Prada’s sailing heritage.
