Which island country has Oranjestad as its capital?
Answer
Aruba
Answer
Aruba
Aruba is the Caribbean island country whose capital is Oranjestad.
Oranjestad is on Aruba’s western coast and serves as the island’s political, commercial and administrative centre. Aruba is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, alongside the Netherlands, Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
Aruba lies just north of Venezuela in the southern Caribbean. Together with Curaçao and Bonaire, it forms the ABC islands. Unlike many eastern Caribbean islands, Aruba has a relatively dry, desert-like landscape and lies outside the main Atlantic hurricane belt.
Oranjestad is sometimes confused with Willemstad, the capital of nearby Curaçao. The names are also easy to mix up because both islands have Dutch connections and colourful waterfront architecture, but they are separate islands and separate constituent countries.
