Peter Jones was part of the original five-dragon panel on the first British series of Dragon's Den.
The original panel consisted of Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Doug Richard and Rachel Elnaugh. Jones brought experience in technology, telecommunications, media and consumer businesses to the investment room.
He became one of the programme's most enduring investors and remained associated with Dragon's Den across many later series. His height and business interests also made him particularly recognisable to viewers, but the key historical point is that he was present from the beginning.
