Hilary Devey joined Dragons' Den in 2011 as a replacement for James Caan.

Devey was a businesswoman and entrepreneur best known for Pall-Ex, a palletised freight network she founded in 1996. Her experience in logistics and transport gave the Dragons' Den panel a perspective distinct from investors primarily associated with retail, property or consumer brands.

She joined the BBC programme for its ninth series, taking the place left by James Caan. Devey remained on the panel for two series before leaving the show after series ten. Her direct interviewing style and interest in operational businesses became characteristic of her time as a Dragon.
