Shaun Pulfrey created the detangling hairbrush Tangle Teezer before pitching it on Dragon's Den.
Pulfrey was a professional hairstylist who developed the brush after observing how conventional brushes and combs could pull and damage tangled hair. The Tangle Teezer used rows of flexible teeth designed to move through knots with less tugging. Its unusual shape and function helped distinguish it from standard flat hairbrushes.
Pulfrey appeared on Dragon's Den in 2007 seeking investment. The product did not secure a deal on the programme, but the business later grew substantially through retail sales and international distribution. Its post-show success is often cited as an example of a product that gained attention without receiving an on-screen investment.
Tangle Teezer is sometimes incorrectly linked to Rob Law because both products became famous after Dragon's Den pitches. Law created Trunki, whereas Shaun Pulfrey created Tangle Teezer. They are separate inventions with different founders.
