Miss Dior was the iconic Dior perfume launched in 1947.

The fragrance appeared shortly after Christian Dior's debut fashion collection and became the perfume counterpart to his new couture house. It was created by perfumers Paul Vacher and Jean Carles as a floral chypre, a fragrance family known for combining floral notes with earthy, mossy and woody accords. Its listed composition includes galbanum and leather, with citrus and floral notes developing into a deeper base.

The name was a tribute to Catherine Dior, Christian Dior's younger sister. Catherine was a French Resistance member during World War II and was arrested by the Gestapo in 1944. She survived imprisonment at the Ravensbrück concentration camp and later became a rose grower. Naming the perfume “Miss Dior” connected the new fragrance to someone central to Dior's family life.

Miss Dior is often confused with later Dior launches such as Poison, introduced in 1985, or J'adore, introduced in 1999.
