Which Ice Age film introduced the possums Crash and Eddie?

Ice Age: The Meltdown introduced the possum brothers Crash and Eddie. The 2006 sequel adds them alongside Ellie, who was raised with the pair and initially shares their belief that she is a possum.

Crash and Eddie are energetic pranksters whose reckless behavior contrasts with Manny’s caution. Their role also expands Ellie’s backstory, because the brothers treat her as their sister even after the group learns that she is a mammoth.

The characters are voiced in English by Seann William Scott and Josh Peck, respectively. They return in later Ice Age stories, but their first appearance is in The Meltdown rather than the original 2002 film. They are sometimes confused with Louis, another small companion introduced in Continental Drift.
