Winx won the Cox Plate four consecutive times from 2015 through 2018.
Trained by Chris Waller and ridden by Hugh Bowman in each of her Cox Plate victories, Winx first won the race at Moonee Valley in 2015. She defended the title in 2016 and 2017 before becoming the first horse to win the race four times in 2018.
The Cox Plate is a weight-for-age race held in Melbourne, Australia, usually over 2,040 metres. Winx’s four victories formed part of a longer winning streak that made her one of the most famous racehorses of the 21st century.
Winx retired in 2019 after winning 33 consecutive races. She was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame as an Australian racing legend, and her name was later given to the Winx Stakes at Randwick.
