Harry Potter plays Quidditch as a Seeker in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.
Quidditch is a fictional team sport played on broomsticks. Each team has seven players: three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper, and one Seeker. The Seeker’s principal task is to catch the Golden Snitch, a small flying ball.
Catching the Snitch normally earns 150 points and usually ends the match, though the result is determined by the total score. Harry’s exceptional flying ability makes him an unusually young Hogwarts Seeker when he joins the Gryffindor team.
Quidditch is sometimes confused with wizard chess because both are important magical activities in the first novel. Wizard chess is a strategy game, while Quidditch is a competitive field sport with teams, positions, and scoring rules.
