Which Hogwarts house is associated with the crest of a badger in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books?

The story behind the answer

Hufflepuff is the Hogwarts house associated with a badger in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books.

The house was founded by Helga Hufflepuff, one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Its stated qualities include hard work, patience, loyalty, fairness, and dedication. The house colors are yellow and black, and its ghost is the Fat Friar.

Hufflepuff is sometimes treated as less important because the central trio are not members of it. Rowling’s books, however, present Hufflepuff characters as courageous and significant. Cedric Diggory is one of the house’s best-known students and represents it in the Triwizard Tournament.

The badger is Hufflepuff’s animal emblem. The other Hogwarts houses use a lion for Gryffindor, an eagle for Ravenclaw, and a serpent for Slytherin.
