Which historical region is the primary setting of Assassin's Creed Origins?
Answer
Ancient Egypt
Answer
Ancient Egypt
Ancient Egypt is the primary historical setting of Assassin's Creed Origins.
The game takes place during the first century BCE, mainly under the reign of Cleopatra VII. Players control Bayek of Siwa, a Medjay who investigates the forces behind personal and political upheaval while helping establish the Hidden Ones, the precursor to the Assassin Brotherhood.
Origins was released in 2017 and marked a major shift toward role-playing mechanics. It introduced experience levels, loot with varied statistics, dialogue choices, and a large open world containing cities, deserts, tombs, and waterways. Alexandria, Memphis, and the Siwa Oasis are among its prominent locations.
The title's setting is sometimes confused with Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which is set primarily in ancient Greece. Origins comes earlier in the series' historical chronology and presents the formation of the organization that later becomes known as the Assassins.
