Which historical dynasty rules much of Egypt in Assassin's Creed Origins?

The story behind the answer

The Ptolemaic dynasty rules much of Egypt in Assassin's Creed Origins.

Origins is set mainly in Egypt during the first century BCE, near the end of Ptolemaic rule. The dynasty began after the death of Alexander the Great, when Ptolemy, one of his generals, took control of Egypt and founded a Greek-speaking royal line.

The game's ruler is Ptolemy XIII, whose reign is entangled with the Roman intervention led by Julius Caesar and the civil war involving Cleopatra. Bayek of Siwa, the protagonist, becomes involved in these political struggles while pursuing the masked conspirators who harmed his family.

The Ptolemies were Macedonian Greek rulers of Egypt rather than an Egyptian pharaonic dynasty descended from earlier native royal houses. Cleopatra VII, the dynasty's most famous ruler, was its final active sovereign before Egypt became a Roman province in 30 BCE.
