Baghdad is the primary historical setting of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Mirage takes place in ninth-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. The city is the center of Basim Ibn Ishaq’s story as he rises from a street thief to a Hidden One. Its districts, markets, rooftops, and institutions provide the main environment for investigation and stealth.
The game depicts Baghdad’s Round City as a major location and includes historical figures such as the caliph al-Mu’tasim and the scholar al-Jahiz. Mirage’s design deliberately emphasizes social stealth, parkour, and focused missions, echoing features associated with earlier games.
Baghdad is not the same as Cairo, which appears prominently in Assassin’s Creed Origins, or Constantinople, the main setting of Revelations. Mirage also includes a brief prologue in Anbar, but Baghdad is the primary city and the defining setting of the game.
