Which Harry Potter novel by J.K. Rowling was published seventh and concluded the main series?

The story behind the answer

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was the seventh and final novel in J.K. Rowling’s main Harry Potter series. It was published on 21 July 2007, bringing the central story of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Voldemort to its conclusion.

The book follows the trio as they leave Hogwarts and search for the Horcruxes that contain parts of Voldemort’s soul. Alongside that quest, the novel reveals the significance of the Deathly Hallows: the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility.

The title can be confused with the film adaptation, which was split into two parts. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 was released in 2010, while Part 2 followed in 2011.

The novel completed the seven-book sequence that began with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 1997. The later stage production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is not an eighth Rowling novel in that series.
