Harry Potter is described as the youngest seeker to play for Gryffindor’s Quidditch team.
Harry becomes Gryffindor’s Seeker during his first year at Hogwarts, after Professor Minerva McGonagall notices his flying ability. At age eleven, he joins the house team under captain Oliver Wood. The Seeker’s role is to catch the Golden Snitch, a move that ends the match and awards 150 points.
His position makes him central to many school matches, although Quidditch is only one part of the larger story. Harry’s flying talent is connected to his father, James Potter, who was also a skilled Quidditch player and played as a Chaser for Gryffindor.
Draco Malfoy is a Slytherin Seeker and a rival, while Oliver Wood is Gryffindor’s older captain and goalkeeper. Those characters are therefore plausible but incorrect alternatives. Harry’s first match is played against Slytherin in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
