Shaun Pulfrey presented the Tangle Teezer hairbrush product on the British show Dragon's Den.
Pulfrey, a professional hairdresser, developed the brush to detangle hair while reducing pulling and breakage. He first appeared on Dragon's Den with the product in 2007. The distinctive design used flexible teeth arranged to move through tangled hair rather than snagging it like a conventional brush.
The product's name is Tangle Teezer, not Tangle Teaser. That spelling is a common error because “teaser” is a familiar English word, while “Teezer” is the brand's stylised name.
Tangle Teezer later expanded beyond its original detangling brush into several shapes and versions. Its television appearance is an example of a pitch that helped give a small consumer product significant public visibility.
